Hissyfit are the guests at Grimsby Folk Club on Sun 3 Oct. As if that were not enough , they will be accompanied by David Swann.
Put it in your diary and then make sure you get down there for a night not to be missed.

David's a real sweetie - and so talented! The thing we noticed when he was a guest in my Sounds of Folk programme when he camed in as a guest, was that we could hear every word he sang. I can't say that for all performers!

Anyway, you 2 - when will you be performing

When and Where Ali!

Kirby Fleetham with the Young'uns this Saturday night - Yikes tomorrow, and at Helmsley on Sunday in the Yorkshire songwriters gig, then Grimsby as above, and Barnsley on 13 Dec!! - and we have a few festivals pencilled in for 2011.
And somewhere in there we WILL get CD 3 recorded!

So all I have to do is schedule a return flight to the UK, rent a car in London, and venture out to Yorkshire again. I've even tempted but I also need to do a workshop at Getaway this same weekend.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble, back in Maine

That would perhaps be asking too much ,Charley! ....but there are people living much nearer who shouldn't miss this night.

Cheery Charley, what a great idea - guess you'd be missed at the Getaway tho'.
Back to the gig,
David has got his passport ready for the Humber crossing... and Linda and I intend crossing early for a little rehearsal/warm up in the Barton area around 2pm???

Brilliant evening at Grimsby Folk Club, tonight. Loved your music, Hissyfit and was great to hear David Swann, too. A really enjoyable evening and was a nice surprise to hear and say hi to Rik Palieri again as well as the others doing some good support spots. Thanks all!

Well Oaklet ,Hazel still seemed absolutely sober and , as Rockhen says , she and Linda and David gave a brilliant performance.
Rik was great too. I just wish I had had more time to give him a much longer spot. Alan Bolt also impressed with his Cosmotheka-like performance.
And of course Paul and Linda were of their usual high standard.
Thanks to them all
To those who didn't make it tonight..it was your loss!

Thanks for everyone who came especially Sue and Geoff and gave us wonderful support. especially nice to see John Conolly even though the poor man was recovering from a heavy cold. Paul & Linda -wow! loved them and there werent even offended when having mistaken them for man and wife rather than brother and sister, I commented that in Lincolnshire I had heard that it amounted to the same thing!

Great to catch up with many friends south of the Humber. We had a great time - and Oakley, it was a hard contest! Off to see the delightful Lincolnshire lads 'Whaley and Fletcher' tonight. Byeeeee.
Hazel.
