One farm near here used to sponsor a scarecrow contest near halloween, but has stopped offering that. It was cut in the shape of a Spitfire as a mark of the anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and was well worth a visit. Hope they do something next year |

Here is the link to the corn mazes in New Hampshire (USA) -- New Hampshire Corn Mazes And here is the one closest to our house, next town over -- Coppal House This year it's in the shape of a Great Horned Owl. Curmudgeon and I have always found it peculiar that scarecrows are associated with autumn and post-harvest and Hallowe'en decorating rather than when they would be more appropriate and useful -- during the growing season BEFORE the crop is harvested.
