17 Oct 10 - 09:14 PM (#3009536) Subject: RE: Obit: Beaver's mom Barbara Billingsley From: catspaw49 She created the iconic 50's Mom never to be forgotten or matched. From the hair to the dress and shoes, she portrayed a true image of the suburban 50's homemaker. She on the other hand was every bit the actor and after being a bit trapped ina typecast situation she made the most of it as years passed. WHen I first saw "Airplane" I laughed at many parts all the way through but nowhere was I more amused than by her turn as the Ebonics speaking June Cleaver type. Thanks for contributing to the rich fiber of our culture.................... Spaw |

Sincerely,
The best scene ever....was when she came downstairs in the morning...a little bow-legged....and asked, "Ward, don't you think you were a little hard on The Beaver last night?" |

Karen would take time offf work to come out and bought a dress she wore for these occasions which we always called her "June Cleaver Dress." Ya' know, in its own waym it was very sexy. Spaw |
