18 Oct 10 - 11:57 PM (#3010320) Subject: BS: origami From: Desert Dancer I find it hard to believe, but apparently there's never been a Mudcat thread with origami in the title. Any origamitricians out there? Or appreciants of the art? http://www.ericjoisel.com/ (Eric Joisel died just recently, unfortunately - for music content, play "spot the concertina" ...it was a poster at concertina.net who pointed me to this) http://www.greenfusefilms.com/ (made the documentary excerpted at the above website: "Between the Folds") http://www.itvs.org/films/between-the-folds (I'm trying to figure out if the entire film is viewable online there) ~ Becky in Tucson |

19 Oct 10 - 02:58 AM (#3010350) Subject: RE: BS: origami From: GUEST,Patsy There was a television program in the UK about the art back in the 60s but unfortunately I didn't get around to actually doing it myself. I could make brilliant paper aeroplanes though. |

19 Oct 10 - 08:09 AM (#3010513) Subject: RE: BS: origami From: Black belt caterpillar wrestler There used to be Origami pages in the old "Rupert" annuals and one of them had the best design I ever came across for a paper plane. You could easily alter the elevon angles to perform different acrobtics. The trouble is that it was so complicated that I could never remember how to fold it without the instructions and the book has long ago disappeared:( I can remember how to make one that was about 75% as good ( and about 50% as complicated). |

19 Oct 10 - 07:26 PM (#3011083) Subject: RE: BS: origami From: gnu Paper airplanes? In high school, I was an expert at same with the tin foil from Wrigley's chewing gum. I could make one that, when hurled with my laser like arm speed, would stick in the side of the face of Rick Bernard at 20 feet away. He was a huge lad. Thank goodness, as such, he couldn't catch me. |
20 Oct 10 - 09:13 AM (#3011396) Subject: RE: BS: origami From: GUEST,Patsy The trouble with all of these things I am enthusiastic to start with...... I am still getting my head around completing a crocheted scarf from 2 years ago! Talking of paper planes we used to drop them down on to the people below and run. |
