A recent email to me from a local musician reads as follows:

Fox Revived session

The Fox's Folk Music Night – Tues 19th October from 8.00 pm'ish

The recent folk & jazz festival (and many thanks to all those who came along) at the beginning of September was such a success the Fox Revived has decided to hold a "Folk Music Night" once a fortnight starting from Tuesday 18th October.

The evening will be an open microphone music session with our talented local traditional singers and musicians welcome to come down and show their talents or just come along for the pure enjoyment and a taste of real England!

The Fox Revived is at: Smalls Hill Rd, Norwood Hill, Horley, Surrey RH6 0ET. I assume "open microphone music session" is something like a singaround - we shall see...

Open mics in my experience tend to be pop rather than folk - I did actually hear about the Fox Revived session on Sunday, and jolly good luck to it. Haven't been there for along while. Await Will's report.
