21 Oct 10 - 10:21 PM (#3012696) Subject: kokoleoko-liberian folk song From: GUEST,Sheila Hi. I'm seeking any information about this Liberian folk song: translations, performers, authors (if any), rituals, etc. I've found this: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=kokoleoko&x=18&y=17, plus a few youtube performances, but it doesn't help much with the meaning. I know something about a rooster and cockadoodle-doo. Thanks for any help. Sheila |

From the cover: "The Music Department of Antioch College joined the Cooperative Recreation Service in sponsoring at Antioch College, May 10, 1957, an African Folk Music Work Shop. From the work shop and additional sources has come this sampler of African folk music." This information from Google Books and Worldcat.org. |
