Good meeting room?songwriter(LincolnUK)

For those in the Lincoln area (UK)
Are there any songwriters in the Lincoln area interested in us setting up a group, (probably meeting monthly) for those who write songs or are interested in trying to write them? Our current group in Grimsby is very informal, supportive and friendly and is proving to be very successful with those who attend. We have people who have written many songs and those who are just starting to have a go. We have a couple of poets attending, too. All welcome whatever the experience. Please PM me for further info.
We are looking for a SUITABLE ROOM in Lincoln,(forgive me shouting!) to run a parallel group to our songwriting group in Grimsby. We need a room separate to the main area at a venue, as we need it to be quiet. We also need it to be with good access to the room so it is open to all including those who would find stairs etc a problem.
Added to these specific requirements...we also want it to be as cheap as possible, we don't need posh surroundings just a safe welcoming place for those who attend! (We are trying to make it open to all and not an expensive night out!)
An ideal room would be one towards the Nettleham end of Lincoln,(we will be travelling into Lincoln from that direction,) with parking on site and nearby access to public transport. Quite a lot to ask but I am hoping that Mudcatters maybe able to help! Many thanks, all who have taken the time to read this..!

Hi Hen,

What about the White Hart in Nettleham. They have a room which is separate from the rest of the pub (so you have to cross the yard to get a pint or a pee) but it's quiet and a nice place to be. Lincoln FC used it up to two or three years ago.

No idea what they charge, sorry.

Cheers BWM Will look into it. I was wondering if we could get one in Lincoln itself but it is worth considering all places I think. Ta!

Another alternative might be The Unison Club on Beaumont Fee (near the Cop Shop). It's the social club of the Local Council. Lincoln FC meet there now. They have two or three areas which might be suitable.

Cheers, BMW. I have a number to ring for them, tomorrow when the person who books the Club is there. We are hoping to find somewhere in the next few weeks so that we can start in the new year. Hope all is well with you and thanks for your help! :-)

Rockhen, worth asking at The Drill Hall, they have lots of different rooms there plus the bar area is fully accessible!.

They are well placed for public transport.

Thanks Deirdre...will check it out. I looked on the site but I will ring them as the prices page wouldn't open on my computer.

The bloke from the drill hall was saying yesterday that their grant has been reduced and therefore they will have to think more carefully what they do for the future. Something along those lines anyway. Expensive parking around that area.

I asked Bishop Grosseteste if they had facilties and of course they do.
They hire the foyer bar out at £10 an hour which is probably a little bit too expensive.

out of interest they do have a regular event in the foyer Bar once a month.

A few more options:

St Giles Community Centre

Small meeting room might be suitable @ £5.10 per hour

Croft Street Community Centre

Meeting room @ £7 per hour

Sudbrooke Drive Community Centre

Small meeting room @ £5.10 per hour

A quick google.co.uk search for "lincoln Community Centre" reveals several more but the three above are on the Nettleham side and as far as I know should be fairly well served by buses (as well as anywhere in Lincoln anyway!)
