Ian Stephenson (of 422 and various other bands), a VERY talented guitarist and all-round musician, has just released his first solo album.

Those of you who have seen or heard him know how good he is. This album features him playing alongside some of his equally talented friends. If you paste the link you can get to hear some of it (and buy it too!)
I've known him for years, and I wish I had just half the talent he has in his little finger.

I'm hoping that when I move up his way I might get to hear some of it live. I've heard the tracks on the website, and it seems to be as good as I would have expected.

Just need to get a copy, get my cd player out of storage, or spend hours driving round with it on in the car!

Thanks for posting this, Mouldy..

Here's a list of (hopefully impressive looking) guest musicians:

Alistair Anderson,
Brian Finnegan,
Sarah Hayes,
Ross Couper,
Andy May,
Antti Javela
Esko Jarvela
Emily Ball
Jim Goodwin
Laura Bell
Bjorn Dahlberg.

It's taken me over 8 years to complete!

I see that on the Ides of March in 2000, Bill Sables started a thread to Celebrate Ian's 18th Birthday. Ian, you're aging! Good luck with your CD.

Interesting concept of SOLO.

Sounds good though!

Hi Joe Offer!

I haven't been on the mudcat for ages,
but it was about ten years ago now that I did a mudcat tour of the US with Bill Sables and Sam Pirt
-stayed with Catspaw, Sorcha Dorcha (I think), MAX (spiegel) and loads more -what a WELCOME we had! Had a great time visiting Rick Fielding (RIP) in Toronto and he was especially kind to me. And of course there were many others with whom we stayed too, it's still the only time I've ever visited the states and it was a great introduction!

Hope you're all well, catters!

Ian

Hi Ian, I'm looking forward to buy your new CD on April 30 when you're playing with Baltic Crossing at the Hamburg Musikhalle.
