01 Nov 10 - 03:13 PM (#3020981) Subject: Barnsley FC dates to end of year From: GUEST,Sarah, Barnsley In short it's been an 'interesting' year, but the move to the Trades is seen by everyone as a positive move - the pros outweigh the cons and numbers on singers nights are up. We will continue to run guest nights every 6 weeks or so and also introduce featured artist slots in-between these – if you are interested in a slot, please contact Dave Bottomley. Once these are confirmed – I'm hoping to get a beginners music session in the diary (although beginners always welcome at the usual Monday night 8pm session). Singers nights continue every Monday. Events up to the end of the year; 15th Nov Steve Ashley – (see below for description) £4 suggested entry http://www.steveashley.co.uk/ 13th Dec – Hissyfit with David Swann £4 suggested entry A welcome return to Barnsley for Linda and Hazel – superb unaccompanied songs sung in close harmony. 02 Dec 10 - 03:03 PM (#3045137) Subject: RE: Barnsley FC dates to end of year From: GUEST,Sarah, Barnsley Hello, hope you're getting on OK in this weather! Dates for December; Mon 6th – Slow music session before the club 8-9pm – given the current weather situation, please call or email me first to make sure it's still on! (the next one will be Mon 17th Jan) Thurs 9th – (non-BFC promotion) - Acoustic Jam Session at the Ring o Bells, Silkstone, Led by String Theory – all styles of Acoustic music welcome – again – weather permitting. Mon 13th – Hissyfit and David Swann Mon 20th – Christmas Party – all welcome, especially people that can't make it very often. Free Buffet. (all at Barnsley Trades, Racecommon Rd starting 8pm unless otherwise stated) Further ahead Mon 27th Dec and Mon 3rd Jan - These are Bank Holidays and I'm not sure whether the trades will even be open or if it is, if we can have the room. Watch this space….. Mon 10th Jan – The first of our singers and musicians nights with a featured artist (30 min spot). This time it's Sheffield's Paul Pearson. Dave's been busy putting together a programme for 2011 – more about that in the New Year. Finally if anyone can help us with a simple, easy-to-update website for the club I'd be very grateful. I'm a hair's bredth away from packing up the Myspace page because it's become so unusable. There might even be a small fee available if anyone out there is a professional and would do us a good rate. Cheers, Sarah Barnsley Folk Club |
