Probably the last concert by these two pioneers of the Brit. folk scene. Folk '78 now at Mediafire.com and on TheBox.bz

Following Iain (Jethro) Anderson's complaint - all uploads will now be deleted. The tapes will all be dumped TODAY. The BBC didn't want them. Now the folk scene will be denied access to this historic material forever. What a great waste of time. Thanks Mr. Anderson. Have a nice day.

Guest, Thanks for pointing that one out, whoever you are. I've downloaded it and I'll be taking a copy for posterity.

In fact I remember the original transmission. I was living in a bedsitter in Portrush, Co Antrim at the time and listened to it through a tinny portable radio. Happy days! Wasn't there some bother over actually getting the concert staged? As I remember it, there was a Musicians Union strike because the BBC wanted to axe one of its orchestras, and the whole thing had to be put back until the strike was over.

However, this wasn't their final concert or anything like it. I returned to England at the back end of 1978 and caught them several times during the next few years.

Yeah, I did a floor turn when they did Kiveton in January 1985. Ewan was a bit poorly and Peggy did quite a few on her own.
