. . .or maybe it's "Moorland". Anyway, can't make out all the words on the YouTube video, and an internet search turns up nothing. Thanks very much.

Is this the one:-

I"ll o"er the muir to Maggie o
I"ll o"er the muir to Maggie o
When done wi work though e"er sae dark
I"ll o"er the muir to Maggie o.

This is half of the first verse, there is one other verse.

Joe.

Thanks all, but here's the first verse of the one i'm looking for:

"There was a farmer in the west
wi' me yarn te yarn te yaddy-o
He had a wife, but she wasn't the best
An' they called her Moorlan' Maggie-o
Moorlan' Moorlan' Maggie-o
(unintelligible gaelic)"

GUEST,schlimmerkerl: I am unable to find the YouTube video you referred to.

Please post a link—or, if you can't do that, post the URL—or if you don't know what that means, at least give me the exact spelling of something I can search for and find the video. It wouldn't hurt to have the musician's name or any other information you have also.

Searching for "Moreland Maggie" or "Moorland Maggie" or "Moorlan' Maggie" turns up nothing.

Stanley Robertson sings 'Moorlough Maggie'
on voice of the people CD 'As me and my true love sat courting'

'And dae ye see love, yon flock o' sheep
One hundred must I own but two or three
I'll grant them aa tay my mourlough Maggie
gin she consent for tay gang wi me......'
