Thought for the Day - August 29

An exercise, if you will, on a lazy Sunday, for all you bright and witty souls. I give you an example, then send you on your way, but only if you promise to share! This then go do, starting at any place in the alphabet, start a poem or song, let each line then start with the next letter of the alphabet until you go full circle. Oh...the thought for the day? HAVE FUN!

A humble offering of first attempt:

ALPHARHYME

And once again, we start our story
By the side of the brook in the woods.
Carefully chosen, our words do speak of
Dragons and knights and deeds of good.
Even though they're just a thought,
Far away, in a land of yore, with
Galloping steeds, and valleys wide,
High mountains with peaks of myth,
In our minds, we're already there.
Just 'cross the dale and over the hill (sorry, :-) a little trite sounding!)
Keen winds rustle through the brush of
Ladyslipper blossoms, bluebonnets, until
Moist winds rush and howl into the
Night of darkening clouds and stars' dim lights.
Open our eyes next morning, and see, a
Path of shining stones leading to the heights.
Quicksilver glints along the way
Reminding us of where we dare not tread.
Soothsayers were they ones who say
Threnetic cries are heard
Until they fall, a piercing through the breast
Vile stench foretells of death's foul bringer.
While enchanted champions awake, past the test,
Xiphopagus, with terrible visage, descends.
Yowls when taken by sword unto its death.
Zephyr clears away the dream: Awake!

An explanation of Coyote Ugly,
Be it ever so "bad"
Can be read on the 28th thread
Do not be mad.
Ere I leave you,
For back to sleep I must go.
Give me a break,
Happiness now I do know.
I don't fool around now
Just don't see how I could
Karen changed me forever
Like a true lover should.
Methinks I'll stop here
Now is the time
Or I'll be keep making up more
Pisspoor, awful, lame rhymes.

And 4 don't go into 26 anyway!!!

Spaw

Evening(morning), folks, Usually I ignore dropped gauntlets, maybe I'll regret picking this one up... Here goes.

Zymurgy is the art of brewing As some you may recall But I had to find it in the dictionary Cause I got no vocabulary at all

Dense I am, thick as a post and Exceptionally un-wellread; ('cept fer Harlequins, Louis L'amour, Judith Krantz Ibsen, Joyce[james] and Chaucer )

Just now I've let in the cat, and this is ironic, her Knack for poesy is more Mewling than, say, Byronic

Not to underrate her earthshaking Oratorical skills - she used them convincingly that time she was full of Porcupine Quills

Returning to the creation of lines indexed alphabetically Sunday at midnight (he said, parenthetically) Takes the cake in terms of all the hours available Unless you're looking to publish or make your work salable

Very often, it seems, you end up looking like a jerk, when you send off the poem without proofreading your Werk. But I fear not the critics- on them a pox! If there's worth in these words may they meet a Xerox. I know this offering is far from poetic, but shucks i hope You might find it a just a little zoetic.

Cheers, bUphill
