Passing the country depot of the regional mounted police branch
today, there came into my mind "Lafferty"s Mounted Foot".
Is it a song or a tune? Irish??
Joe.

Thanks, I probable heard it sung in the dim and distant past. Most
likely on an early 1950s R.E. programme called the Ballad Makers
Saturday Night, anyone remember this one? A P.F.song I do remember
from this programme is "Cuttin" The Corn in Creeslough"
I must make an effort to aquire the works of P.F. in book form.
Joe.

I think I've got the sheet music somewhere, Gutcher. It's Shlathery's Mounted Fut and it is PF.

As ^&* said, it's in the Digital Tradition - but the text is flawed and the title is wrong. Mick Bracken posted the lyrics in this thread. When Mick Bracken posts lyrics, they're usually right. The thread also has links to MIDIs for the melody.
