24 Nov 10 - 07:02 AM (#3039382) Subject: Great line up for Blind Fiddlers Benifit From: GUEST,Rich A Wednesday 1st December, 7.30. Artists include; James Fagan & Nancy Kerr, Gavin Davenport, Skyhook, Richard & Jess Arrowsmith, Paul & Liz Davenport, Gina Le Faux with James Reynard & Laurie Faux, South Riding 'Chamber Orchestra'. The concert is to finance the placing of a 'blue plaque' in Paradise Square, Sheffield to honour Samuel Goodlad, publican, violinist and philanthropist who taught and organised Sheffield's many blind musicians. Goodlad set a high standard and challenged the contemporary view that the blind were of no worth. He created a legacy of fine musicianship amongst these musicians and gave the town's population an appreciation of the blind which may account for the fact that Sheffield created the first school for the blind in UK. Tickets £10 including Pie & Pea supper. Exellent beer brewed on site. Come and support this worthy cause. |

01 Dec 10 - 09:49 AM (#3044137) Subject: RE: Great line up for Blind Fiddlers Benifit From: Paul Davenport Finally got onto Mudcat! Sorry to say that we have finally had to give in - Total Eclise is postponed until 19th January 2011. The snow is horrific in Sheffield and the buses aren't running. Here in Maltby it has been snowing on and off all day and there are two feet of snow outside in the street. People wanting to attend this event need to keep an eye on the Facebook page 'Blind Fiddlers of Sheffield' where we post all our stuff. sorry folks Paul |
