Music Weekend in Vt. Susan A-R

I'm beginning plans for a music weekend the 25th 26th of September up here in Vermont. Anyone up for a trip north? Should be foliage season by then. It'll probably be a mix of instrumental/dance, singing/folk/sacred harp/rounds, etc.

Sounds good to me, Susan. Wish I was a little closer....story of my life, at least for the past few months!

A "trip north" to Vermont? Vermont is actually down south (from Canada).

...and Norman Kennedy, and Wally Macnow. Susan, it sounds great. (ANYthing in Vermont ALWAYS sounds great to me, but music especially.) I'll have to be there in spirit this time, though. The mortgage-paying part of my life will keep me here in D.C. on that weekend. Harumph. Hiya Kendall. Welcome to the 'Cat.

Darn! Boy, I'd come in a minute if it were a different weekend. That weekend I'll be in New Bedford, MA at a hymn sing benefit for a really, really old Quaker (I think) meeting house. Joan, Helen and Barbara (those mentioned in Kendall's posting) are also very long time friends of mine whom I'd love to see. Hope you will consider doing this again (preferably in cool weather). If my plans change, I'd love to come.

regards,

karen k (in connecticut)

Susan: I'm afraid we're also committed to the benefit hymn sing with "karen k (in Connecticut)" and the others over in New Bedford. But for pete's sake talk to Kendall about coming down to the Getaway. Maybe the two of you could carpool it for the trip? Share the cost, if not the driving. We'd love to see both of you there.

Kathy..so, how come you left town without telling me? That hasn't happened to me in years (tongue in cheek) Anyway, it's good to hear from you.

Oh RATS!! I KNOW this stuff, but most of these catters are south. Anyway, come west, come south, whatever, just come and sing and eat and camp or whatever. Say Kendall, are you going to the getaway? Things just got complicated here by a Tommy Sands concert next door, but I may still be up for the trip south.

I will do another, and they will generally be in cooler weather, as my family comandeers the cabin in the warmer months, and it is quite lively enough without a bunch of musicians, thank you very much.

I've pretty much decided to not go to the Getaway.. in fact I told Jennifer that I would not be coming, so, hopefully, she has given my spot to another. I'm trying to figure out the second part of your message?? you will do another what? without musicians??

Kentall, the last paragraph was in reference to Kathy Westra's earlier post. Just ignore it. The music weekend (hopefullh the first of many) is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 25-26 in East Braintree (central) Vermont. you can post me a personal message with your address, and I'll send you directions and details once I get back from Rick Fielding country.

We are on for the 25th 26th. I sure hope that the weather is NOT like it has been for the past couple of days or it will be close, but fun.

There is still time to get a map and come on up. Should be peak foliage and the music and food shall be grand.

Kendall, Susan just wanted to bring the thread back to the top, i.e., refresh it.
Susan, there's a remote chance I may make it after all, even if only for a day. Is it ok if I just show up unannounced?

Catspaw, you mean that megabreakfast that we're all invited to? Susan, I was looking forward to meeting you as well - and singing on the way down. Are you absolutely SURE you can't make it?

Alas, I am sure. I am counting on other FSGWs though, and will make them. I am booked to sing brecht songs on the 10th of Oct, and am spending a LOT of time with my Dad now, and my big sister is out from AZ so it's a packed weekend. I will also be cookin' for Tommy Sands on the 9th. RATS 'Spaw. I'll have to trundle out to Ohio sometime to get that meal. (my 20th college reunuion is in 2991 in Wooster, or Vermont is a right pretty place to visit.)

2991? Really. I knew things moved a bit slow around that part of the state, but I had no idea the years stretched out so long! Must be all the Amish up around there..........
