Other than he was from Bristol and died in 1950, is there any other biographical info?

Thanks,

Geo

Strangely, there is no information on him in the BBC index - he doesn't even appear as an individual peformer, though there are two references in the entry to two other performers; one to him with the Haymaker's Dance Band singing chorus (I remember it being very BBC-ish) and the other to Sandy Moir's accordion accompaniment.
The songs listed are: A'Roving, Black Ball Line, Blow The Man Down, Can't You Dance the Polka, The Dead Horse, Girl With The Blue Dress On, Haul Away Joe, Haul On The Bowline, Homeward Bound, A Hundred Yeas Ago, Mr Stormalong, Johnny Bowker, Johnny Come Down To Hilo, Mobile Bay, On Board The Kangaroo, Rio Grande, Roll The Cotton Down, Round The Corner Sally, Sacramento, Sally Brown, Shenandoah, Time For Us To Leave Her, Tom's Gone To Hilo (Ilo), We're All Bound To Go, Won't You Go My Way,
Both recordings were made in the BBC Bristol studio in 1950.
There are notes to all the songs with a number of quotes from him, but, as I said, nothing whatever on him as far as I can find.
