Both are Sheffield based, but tunes have a habit of wandering around and cropping up somewhere else with a different name. I would like to know about a Saddleworth book if one exists. JohnB |
14 Dec 10 - 03:18 PM (#3053521) Subject: RE: Dots for Sheffield Carols From: Captain Farrell As far as I am aware some of the local Saddleworth tunes were written by local church organists and the like.I do know of one called Silver Hill that is played in Delph on Whit Friday but in the old days used as a version of While Shepherds just one of dozens used for this carol in Yorkshire. |
