14 Dec 10 - 02:57 PM (#3053509) Subject: RE: uxbridge folk club From: George Papavgeris You are being unnecessarily mean, hannibal - both towards Barry and towards the Uxbridge FC. I haven't seen Barry for some time, but I know that he has written some lovely songs. As for Uxbridge FC I know they started recently (the old club having closed down some years ago), and they could do with encouragement rather than mud-flinging. And you're doing all that anonymously, of course! Well, this is not my Mudcat or my folk world, so I have this for you, under my full name: Take this axe you have to grind and shove it far, very far up where the sun don't shine. |

14 Dec 10 - 05:43 PM (#3053597) Subject: RE: uxbridge folk club From: Herga Kitty Now why libel Elsdale, when the OP was abusing the guest rather than the organiser? Kitty |
14 Dec 10 - 08:33 PM (#3053692) Subject: RE: uxbridge folk club From: George Papavgeris Anyway, "a n other", as an apologist for "hanibal" could you explain how precisely would his/her membership of Elsdale excuse such mean-spirited behaviour on his/her behalf? We all know the answer of course - it wouldn't. So let this useless thread die and let his/her path never cross mine. |
14 Dec 10 - 09:24 PM (#3053713) Subject: RE: uxbridge folk club From: Suffet Greetings: Form my vantage point in America I have no knowledge of the particulars. Nevertheless, I must agree with George, Mike, and Kitty that such mudslinging is uncalled for. If you have any legitimate criticism of a particular club or artist, then please state your specific concerns clearly and factually. For example: "This club allots too much time to its floor singers and not enough to the featured artist" or "This singer has difficulty remembering the lyrics without a cheat sheet." In any event, please identify yourself, preferably by stating your real name, or else by using a consistent Mudcat alias. Enough said. --- Steve Suffet |
