Stanley) From: Melissa I keep listening (don't ever remember hearing it before and I like it!) and still can't catch that second line. I think the meaning is about work being away from home..rambling around on the job. That's how it goes in my head, anyway, and that's what I'll finagle the words to say when I get around to learning it well enough to sing. |

The work is hard, All year ramblin' far away, But I always make my way back home To Mother and Dad on Christmas day. CHORUS: The snow lies deep in the mountain. The wind blows soft in the pine. The smoke curls up from the chimney. I'm goin' home. It's Christmas time. 2. A little wreath hangs on the door. There's presents on the cabin floor. Dad has trimmed the Christmas tree, And the pathway home it welcomes me. 3. Christmas is a time of joy When God sent down his only boy To save us from sins and care And bring us to our home up there. |
