Whoever and wherever you are.
Whatever your nationality or religion.
Whether you play, sing, collect, collate, study, compose or enjoy music.
I would like to wish you peace, happiness, love and a long life to enjoy them,

Yes even banjo players!
Love and respect
Tim.

Merry Christmas to you, too, Tim.

I'm going to move the thread down here to the non-music section since the nature of this thread appears to be personal greetings rather than music information.

My family is still sleeping. That won't last long. A merry Whatever You Celibrate to one and all.

And to quote Dickens Tiny Tim "May God { or whomever } bless us everyone".*

* - Offer void if belief in a higher power, great spirit, mother earth or flying spaghetti monster is personally offensive to you. Seperation of higher power, great spirit, mother earth or flying spaghetti monsters and state still in effect.

Wesley S: Have you been talking to my wife?

Actually, it does come out in public on occasions, but only when I am surrounded by a group of people waving big sticks and wearing strange costumes! Much as I'd love to use it with the band, the rest of the Bounty Hounds are all banjo haters and won't let me.

Happy Christmas

John

We spent a wonderful evening last night at Cafe NamasThe for the special Christmas open mike. Many thanks to Adrien (Beer) and Danny for that. Ad even asked me to sing a carol and offered accompaniment. Cheered me up more and shocked my friends when I sang O Tannenbaum, auf Deutsch. After all that is its original language. And, wonderfully, the evening raised almost $600 for the music lessons for young people into which Danny and Ad (ADDA) are putting their energies. The evening also brought in some local people not usually seen at our Friday night events as well as many of the regulars. A full house of Christmas cheer! A warm enveloping sense of community. THAT is Christmas!

May the holidays be good to all.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Ooops sorry, what I should have said is........

Happy Holidays!

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all... and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make Britain great (not to imply that Britain is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "Britain" in the Western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual orientation of the wishee.

This wish is limited to the customary and usual good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first."Holiday" is not intended to, nor shall it be considered, limited to the usual Judeo-Christian celebrations or observances, or to such activities of any organized or ad hoc religious community, group, individual or belief (or lack thereof).

DISCLAIMER: By accepting this greeting, you are accepting the following terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher at any time, for any reason or for no reason at all. This greeting is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. This greeting implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for the wishee, him/herself or others, or responsibility for the consequences which may arise from the implementation or non-implementation of same.

This greeting is void where prohibited by law.

Have a Good Weekend.

Merry Christmas to everyone, even if you don't celebrate it have a good time and a happy and peaceful 2011.

For those of us in the UK of a certain age, don't spend your Heating Allowance foolishly - read this and spend wisely!

Eddie

Sometime this year, we taxpayers will again receive another 'Economic Stimulus' payment.

This is indeed a very exciting program, and I'll explain it by using a Q & A format:

Q. What is an 'Economic Stimulus' payment ?

A. It is money that the government will send to taxpayers.

Q.. Where will the government get this money ?

A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ?

A. Only a smidgen of it.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment ?

A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?

A. Shut up!

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.K. economy by spending your stimulus cheque wisely:

* If you spend the stimulus money at Asda or Tesco, the money will go to China, Taiwan or Sri Lanka.

* If you spend it on petrol, your money will go to the Arabs.

* If you purchase a computer, it will go to India, Taiwan or China.

* If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.

* If you buy an efficient car, it will go to Japan or Korea.

* If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan.

* If you pay your credit cards off, or buy shares, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.

Instead, keep the money in the UK by:

1) Spending it at car boot sales, or

2) Going to night clubs, or

3) Spending it on prostitutes, or

4) Beer or whisky or

5) Tattoos.

(These are the only UK businesses still operating in the U.K.)

Conclusion:

Be patriotic - go to a night club with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a car boot sale and drink beer day and night!

No need to thank me, I'm just glad I could be of help.

Doesn't have to be you. Just send us a cousin.

Seriously. I find the LA times crosswords quite good. You don't even need a pencil and once you have seen an ad or two they are basically free!

Already the 25th in Auckland, too. It is actually 10:23amlocal, and our overseas phonecalls are done, all we have to do is pay for them.
So, Merry Christmas to all our readers, as they used to say in the Beano, and particularly Pulseroom and Eddie, who's tongue-in-cheek contributions made us laugh. Chris and Judy.
