Many thanks to Adrien (Beer) and Danny for that. Ad even asked me to sing a carol and offered accompaniment. Cheered me up more and shocked my friends when I sang O Tannenbaum, auf Deutsch. After all that is its original language. And, wonderfully, the evening raised almost $600 for the music lessons for young people into which Danny and Ad (ADDA) are putting their energies. The evening also brought in some local people not usually seen at our Friday night events as well as many of the regulars. A full house of Christmas cheer! A warm enveloping sense of community. THAT is Christmas! May the holidays be good to all. |

What is an 'Economic Stimulus' payment ? A. It is money that the government will send to taxpayers. Q.. Where will the government get this money ? A. From taxpayers. Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ? A. Only a smidgen of it. Q. What is the purpose of this payment ? A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy. Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ? A. Shut up!
