Is Bonny doing the surf at the Nauset Beach on the Cape? It was a spot I used to hit in the early 60's inspired by Jan & Dean, Beach Boys & all the other beach bongo bonanzas, could killed myself not to mention the danger I was to others. Barry |

I don't know precisely where; her usual beach is closed due to the hurricane. I'll be leaving for Hartford tomorrow (Fri) morning and I'll return to NYC on Tuesday. Would be nice to meet up with you if that's in the cards.

I couldn't find much on it but Bill Staines & Skip Gorman are two that'll be there. There are sessions at Mon. the Green Briar in Brighton, I think Shay runs a Fri. eve. session at the Druid in Somerville (better check on that), the Burren in Somerville has a session every night, what should be a nice singing session on Sun 5:00 - 7:30 ? at the Blackthorn Tavern in S. Easton ( 508-238-9017) you may know Briddy Fitzgerald who's running it, great singer from the rocks outside of Spiddle(sp?). I'll be trying to rebuild my porch but I'll e-mail my # in the hopes that we can cross. Barry |

03 Sep 99 - 06:36 AM (#111032) Subject: RE: Help: Boston Area - This Weekend? From: Tiger Dan..... Depends on where you're staying. If you're in Boston, then New Hampshire and Southern Maine are reachable, too. Two good sources: New England Blues Calendar at: http://www.realblues.com/necal.html Dirty Linen (listings by state and artist) at: http://www.dirtynelson.com/linen/special/tour.html Tell us where you'll be - maybe some of the locals can hoist one with you. ....Tiger |

I used to live in Boston so I have a good sense of the geography. I think I'll just try one of the sessions Barry mentioned above. Maybe we'll see you there.

03 Sep 99 - 07:30 AM (#111039) Subject: RE: Help: Boston Area - This Weekend? From: Tiger Dan.. After checking my own recommendations, I found that one of my favorite groups, Atwater-Donnelly, is playing locally, Saturday at The Vanilla Bean, here in Pomfret, CT (about an hour from Hartford). Their style is Celtic and American folk - I'd probably say Appalachian - sounds like your kind of stuff. If you think you'd like it, let me know. I'm about 5 minutes away and will probably go. Definitely, if you can make it. ....Tiger |
