A quick reminder that the now traditional singing & music session will be held at the Saracen's Head, Warburton, near Lymm, at lunchtime on 1st January 2011.

Come along for a sing, play or just to listen.

Happy New Year!

JJ

This will be an exlnt event. I have to put on old clothes and stumble about Chorlton Meadow and I will enjoy it.

All the best John and the rest who will be in the warm, with good ale and much good music

Arcane Lag!!!!??? Buy the man A LAGER CAN instead!

Sorry I won't be able to come as I probably won't have sufficient blood in my alcohol system. Have a good sing, and a Happy New Year to one and all.

Cheers!

Thank you Yvonne and all the best to you for the New Year.
Hope you are both keeping well! We were only thinking about you yesterday and asking Ann and John if they'd heard from you. It would be great if you can make it tomorrow; Glenys says she'd love to hear you sing again.

We really enjoyed the couple of hours we spent at The Sarries. Lovely music, some great singing and songs. It was so good to see everyone after such a long time.

As no one has posted here I can only assume everyone is still there!

Hope to see you all soon and thanks for your excellent company as ever.

Ok we didn't have tunes or songs or sit a long time in a pub with good beer but we did get a 2 hour tour of Chorlton Meadows with Mr Dave Bishop, leading Botanist of this parish, discovering plants we had never noticed including hops growing up trees near Sale Water Park.

Then we went to The Bowling Green for a pint of Landlord which was also excellent!

Glad your day went well, Les!

As Yvonne has already posted, a good time woz 'ad by all at the Sarries!

We had what seemed to be a record turnout, but mostly singers rather than musicians, which is unusual! The room was comfortably full - a few more could have been accommodated, but we had already opted to go to the 'top end' restaurant area rather than the Snug as we'd realised it would have been a little too cosy otherwise!

To try to be fair to everyone we started off playing a few tunes, then went once around the room to give all the singers a turn... then more tunes, more songs, and it worked rather well like that.

We were quite relieved that the deadly diddly brigade didn't show...! They do tend to hog the thing when they're there! ;o)

So thanks to all who were able to join us - singers, musicians and audience! See you next year!

Well, I hope that you see us before next year Bernard, cos it's a singers night on Thursday and we hope to be there!

Yes it was a reet good do and we both really enjoyed it.

Yvonne
It was great to see you and I'm really sorry that we didn't arrive in time to hear you sing, or to have a longer chat than we did. So don't leave it so long before your next visit.

We too had a great couple of hours calling in on our way back home.

Sorry we missed you and your singing Yvonne.

The balance of music and song was perfect although I may be biased.

All the best for 2011 to everyone.

May even make singers night on Thursday! Is it at The Spread in Lymm?

Les, your day sounded great.

Tell Mr.Bishop he can take me on a field trip any day just as long as he sings Lord Bateman and Man'o'War as he searches for hops!

Seriously though a field trip with someone knowledgable is wonderful. I went on a Drangonfly/Butterfly field trip local to where I live last year.

Ahhh heavenly day.

I love being an anorak!

Sorry to have missed you sing too John. Happy New Year to you and Pam.

Alan, thank you for January Man.

Y x
