It's important that we not assume that any kind of music will work for anybody. It has to be music one actually enjoys. |

Being forced to hear music I would normally enjoy, but at a time when I don't want to listen to it, can make me even more upset than being made to listen to music I loathe. Some music can transport me to another time or place - somewhere I was especially happy - and this effect is diminished or lost altogether by listening to that music somewhere full of other distractions. |
