any one up for a new mudcat tee shirt?

I was wondering if there was enough interest in a new batch of shirts to warrant printing up another batch? At one time we had an order of many colors and a few different styles..."v" neck, maybe even long sleeve, etc. But even the simple red and blue ones are good...what say you??

There are no XL ones left in stock, and that is the size i prefer, so I thought I'd start this discussion and see if we were ready for a new
shirt order.

here is a picture of our very own max modelling a blue shirt

thanks for the blickie...
not sure if the address and phone number on that page are current..
dick would be the best one to contact... dick@camscomusic.com

and also bill sables in the U.K. has co-ordinated orders before.

I know we have some new members, and maybe they want the chance to
get a shirt...we do support the mudcat from the sales, so this might
be a good time to generate some more funds for this site.

Also, perhaps some of the original shirts have seen better days
and could use an updated model. (perish the thought that some of
us may have out-grown our previous models....)

O.M.
I wouldn't mind having a couple of younger models!

I would definitely be interested in a shirt, but XL would be my size - either that, or lose fifty pounds...

It was mentioned earlier that at one time there were different colors available. I've always been partial to black in tee shirts, and maybe some shirts could be printed in this color as well as the blue?

Hope springs eternal, as they say.

Perhaps there is a way to have shirts made to order without having to purchase and hold a large variety of sizes in stock...such as
http://www.cafepress.com/make/custom-t-shirts

where they print to order...there is a chart of prices for bulk orders
I think it seems pricey...but perhaps ALICE knows more about cafe
press. (she may have experience selling products thru that site..)

Black does sound like a good shirt color....(or purple)

Sorcha did a beautiful design once for a quilt she donated to the auction..a large catfish jumping out of a banjo...perhaps our logo
could be included on a shirt? The design on the patches in a good one.

Are there any patches availble?

VT, Bill Sables is the tagmaster for your part of the world. I'm sure he'd be pleased to make one for you.

Hi All

We have not had a lot of call for tee shirts lately and have only navy small and large left at this point in the US. Bill Sables may have other sizes in the UK. If there is demand, we can do another printing.

We have quite a few patches left. They are three inch round embroidered patches that can be sewn onto hats, jackets, backpacks, or whatever you decide to do with it, showing the catfish splashing in the banjo/lake.

There were personalized mudcat name badges, made by the Badger (and Tig) in the UK, who I understand are no longer making them. Is that correct?

That last order in 2005 was rather a horror, but I'll go thru it again, if people want it. We ordered only those shirts for which we had definite orders, other than a few standard navy ones to stock. The deal was that as long as we kept the design and ink color constant (so one setup), we could get up to three colors in each some number of shirts, so we had 6 colors of regular tee shirts, three of vee necks, and three of sweatshirts, if i remember correctly. I'll look for the old thread, so you can see the insanity, old tee shirt thread

If there is sufficient interest, I will go scouting around for a printer and see what we can come up with in possibilities. Or we can get and stock the navy shirts.

Any chance of V-neck? Is the fabric a poly/cotton blend or 100% cotton?

I bought a t-shirt years ago but never wear it because it's 50/50, and I find it kind of scratchy. I'd love to pick one up in a 100% cotton version.

if there is an XL in england, perhaps i will just try getting one of them instead of re-inventing the wheel...

but if it is possible to get a black one or a V neck one (esp. 100% cotton) I would wait for a new order..

Sorry, but it's true about the Mudcat Badges.

We came out of the badge business because it was just getting too expensive to be a viable concern. Parts were costing more and more - and you had to buy in VERY large numbers and then festivals (who provided a fair amount of our trade) started using things like plastic wrist bands instead. We know of at least one festival where the punters were far from happy - but corporate committees always have the last word.

And NO we won't sell you the machine :-) (person involved who wants to make badges will know who it is)

Love and hugs
Tig

Any chance there will be mudcat tee shirts available in size medium?

I have tried many, many Size large tee shirts in various styles but I just about swim in a large t-shirt. Medium would fit much, much better.

Hope us smaller folks can be accommodated.

Thank you.

But I would say that, wouldn't I?

Maybe a long-sleeved version if 'Catters are all T-Shirted out, I have one with Upton FF logo on it. RED
on RED! Just the thing if the temperature is not cold enough for a Sweat shirt but might turn later.

I have started checking out tee shirt printers on the internet. It looks like there are some with reasonable prices, where we can order a variety of colors in all heavyweight cotton. I'll have to pick one by price/ color assortment/permit vee necks/large sizes/reasonable/no setup and delivery charges. Some go up to size 2X, other 3X, one had 4X. The large sizes usually cost a little more. How big do we have to go? You can PM me about large sizes, if you don't want to post that info.

We will only order colored tees for which someone has DEFINITELY COMMITTED TO BUY IT, as last time. We will probably get some navy shirts to keep around in the missing sizes, but not other colors. We will not lay out money to have 6 sizes in 5 colors (30 shirts) and then not sell two thirds of them.

Before we go ahead with this, we will need definite commitments from enough people. I will need your size (unisex/male sizes), color5 choices (first and second, maybe third, with range of color - say forest or kelly green, but not olive or lime green), US vs UK vs other location, and eventually, full mailing address. DO NOT POST YOUR MAILING ADDRESS. Use PMs for any sensitive info. Also put in your reservations for navy shirts. Price breaks usually happen around 36 shirts and again at 48. Profit goes to mudcat. We have been using a turquoise ink, which works well on light and dark shirts, but not in medium colored shirts. There can be only one ink color, or the price goes up significantly. The shirts have been selling for $15.

I will talk to Bill Sables about shirts in the UK. Last time we brought a bunch of shirts with us when we went over that summer, but we are not going to the UK this summer, so we will explore printing on both sides of the pond, which will mean more orders will be necessary to go ahead.

So start placing your orders.

It does not sound like there is much interest, so I won't put any more work into this until and unless at least 25 or so commit to buying one.

If you put up a shop on Cafe Press, IT IS FREE, you do not have to put out any up front money unless you want to buy them at store owner cost and you can set them at any retail price. We could all go choose whatever size, etc. we'd want and pay whatever price you set them at. I had a ONE OFF made for my niece, a microbiologist, when she was pregnant and I also use them as a printer for my book. It's been a few years, so I don't know what colours they have available, etc.

I would be interested in all cotton, something made to fit women's hips which might have to be the maternity ones because, as near as I can tell, most mass produced tees are made for men's tube shapes.

Thanks,

kat

Susan, sorry I didn't make that very clear. YOU, as store-owner, could buy from 1- however many, at net cost..no money out but whatever quantity you buy to sell at festivals, etc. WE would pay whatever retail price online with CafePress handling all of the ordering, money, shipping etc. which it then pays to you as store-owner or Mudcat whomever. They print on demand, so there is no need for any warehousing, etc.

Kat - Those shirts run $24-$30 in single runs. We have been selling them for $15 and paying under $10, depending on the size of the run.

So far, only about 10 orders, mostly incomplete information. We will see what develops. Be sure to say US vs. UK so we can determine whether it is worth it to print in both places and avoid shipping. Please give color and size.
