I started this to avoid those nitpicking statisticians on the 100% thread.

We can be almost sure that we have never been visited by aliens.

'Cos The first thing we would hear and recognise from any alien intelligence would be their music. If you don't believe this just listen to any human broadcast and you will mostly hear music.

Also if aliens had visited us in ancient times any artifacts that we would find would be their nuts and bolts or other fixings. Just look around a junkyard and see what is left of really deteriorated vehicles.

Sorry, Bert. I can't almost be sure of that. In fact, given the extensive reading I've done on the subject since having those sightings back in the late 60s and putting my ear to the ground, as it were, plus hearing a great many firsthand accounts from other eyewitnesses, including people I know well, I am almost sure we have been visited by aliens. We may even be the descendants of some of them.

Yer gonna have to find something else. ;-)

Actually they came here and took over the earth some 15,000 or more years ago. They enslaved the human race and make us feed them and care for them and they get really pissed if we don't do it properly.

Perhaps we are on an evolutionary path, in which hive behaviour is one of the way-stations. If so, how do we navigate? It would help to understand how to get there from here more expeditiously, if we only knew where "there" was...
