I can remember back in the 1950s there were a few very old public toilets that I saw with the penny mechanism here in Aust. None around now that I know of - too much trouble and temptation. |

I remember thinking that one good thing about devaluation when the pound dropped from $2.80 to $2.40 was that now a penny would be the same as a US cent. |
