New trad/folk session in Edinburgh

This is to let you all know of a new monthly traditional/folk song and tunes session starting up in Edinburgh. It will be on the first Sunday of the month, starting 6th February, 3-6pm at the Wally Dug, Stockbridge.

The pub has a lovely back room ideal for music, it serves a good selection of drinks including real ales, and the owners are very friendly. All in all it should be a cracking way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

So whether you are an instrumentalist or a singer accompanied or unaccompanied, please do come along and spread the word!

Hope to see many of you there on the 6th :-)

Just a reminder to everyone about the monthly song and tunes session at the Wally Dug pub, Northumberland Street, Edinburgh, which is still going strong!

The next session is this Sunday, May 1st, and it would be great to see many of you there 'to welcome in the summer, to welcome in the May-o...'

By my count that makes five sessions happening at that time in Edinburgh - Sandy Bells (the one I go to), the Royal Oak (with Kris Drever), the Greenmantle (Shetland music), the Dalriada (Irish/Spanish) and now yours.

Well they all seem to cater for different tastes, and in a city as big as Edinburgh there's enough room for them all! I've been to the Wally Dug a couple of times, and really enjoyed it, tho' it's mainly singing-based: however the singing has been accompanied by a variety of instruments.
It is only once a month, whereas most of the others you mention are every week.

That's right Tattie Bogie - we're lucky to have such a plethora of choice!

Sorry I missed the last one, but will definitely be there for the next (5th June).

Yes, now we won't have to worry about missing Murray in a Wimbledon final as, sadly, he's jist gaun oot!
