Warwick Festival 2011

Warwick Folk Festival is usually held on the penultimate weekend in July. This year it is the last weekend (28th.-30th.) which clashes with the start of Sidmouth; anyone got any idea why it was changed?

I think Warwick is likely to miss out on quite a few people, both paying punters and stewards who have to choose one or the other.

Or, the first weekend of Sidmouth will be quieter. I'm going to Warwick and then down to Sidmouth on the Monday.

Actually Warwick is always held on the last full weekend of July, the only exception to this was a few years ago when Sidmouth FF, which is always based around the first Monday of August ended up as a possible clash - At that time the organisers of Warwick decided to push back a weekend. Apparently there was a major outcry from smaller festivals over the change to accommadate Sidmouth FF so that this time a conscious decision was made by the organisers not to move Warwick FF. I will be sad to miss Warwick this year as it is an excellent festival but Sidmouth is also a favourite that i have commitments to so i will be there, all i can say is good luck to both and i will be back at Warwick next year.

I have major committments at Sidmouth and need to be there for most of the Build up week as well as the fetival proper.

Therefor I shall not be at Warwick this year.

Undecided.

This is a a serious decision of cataclismic proportions.

Well let us just say a difficult decision.

In 2012 there is the clash with the 'Limpics.

And I can't even escape them at Sidders because there will be a large screening just for the folkies!

Can I propose a 'Limp Pick free zone around (say) the Radway?

the olympics will be a pain i was hoping to have another house full of americans then but flight cost could be problematic - might go to the opening of olympics if there are massed morris dancers otherwise not my cup of tea I rather be in sidmouth
