02 Feb 11 - 03:34 AM (#3087022) Subject: Lewes Sat FC 5 Feb: Lewis/Hughes ill-CAY From: Valmai Goodyear Unfortunately Joy Lewis has been laid low by a horrible virus, so Joy Lewis and Derrick Hughes won't be able to appear at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club in the Room In The Elephant on Saturday 5th. February. We will re-book them as soon as possible. We'll have a come-all-ye instead, with songs and join-in tunes. Entrance will be £3. As it's not long until spring, or so the calendar implies, there's scope for some songs about that and of course about Lurve since Valentine's Day is round the corner. Our guests on 11th. February are the excellent Playing Rapunzel. Beautiful, sensitive and funny songs in vocal harmony from the gorgeous voices of Mich Sampson and Marilisa Valtaznou with guitar, mandola, flute, piano and double bass. As well as gaining a name in folk clubs, they are great favourites in the filk music sphere. Entrance will be £6. While I'm here, don't forget Sandra's party on Friday 4th. February. The cheese straws have been made and stored in a high-security tin lest they fall into evil jaws. Let me know if you want to join the draught beer syndicate (£1.50 a pint). Valmai (Lewes) |
