Does anyone have the lyrics to the song which begins "There's a little red barn on a farm down in Indiana..."? Would appreciate some help. Thanks Kathryn

In a little red barn on a farm, down in Indiana,
Let ne lay my back on a stack of new mown hay,
Round the barn yard where the farm yard bulls are pally,
Let me dilly-dally, all the live-lond day,
I'm a hooter who's blue through and through and my heart is pining,
For the sycamore trees where the Wabash breezes play,
Once more I'm pining for a yellow moon that's shining,
On a little red barn on a farm, down in Indiana way.

This song was recorded in Australia by a group known as The Overlanders (as I recall) in the 1940's. It is included on a marvellous vinyl issued in the mid 70's known as The History of Australian Country Music. I'd love a copy if anyone has it.

Regards, John

IN A LITTLE RED BARN
By Joe Young, Jean Schwartz & Milton Ager
Copyright 1934

1. I was born 'way down in Indiana.
Wish that I were there right now.
Want to hear my dog bow-wow
When I go to milk the cow.
Raised on corn 'way down in Indiana,
So was ev'ry little hen.
I was mighty happy then.
Wish that I were back again:

CHORUS: In a little red barn on a farm down in Indiana,
Let me lay my back on a stack of new-mown hay.
'Round the barnyard where the farmyard folks are pally,
Let me dilly-dally all the livelong day.
I'm a Hoosier who's blue, through and through, and my heart is pining
For the sycamore trees where the Wabash breezes play.
What's more, I'm pining for a yellow moon that's shining
On a little red barn on a farm down Indiana way.

2. Work was done 'way down in Indiana,
Picked the eggs the chickens lay;
Pushed the plow and pitched the hay;
Ev'ry day a busy day.
Had my fun 'way down in Indiana
When the sun would go to rest.
Saw it sinkin' in the west;
That's the time I liked the best. CHORUS

[Sung by Don Fields and His Pony Boys on "Last Sessions and Historic WDEV Broadcasts," Multicultural Media CD #4004, 2005.]

The Record Lady has this one on her site, performed by the Sons of the Pioneers.

IN A LITTLE RED BARN (ON A FARM DOWN IN INDIANA) by Joe Young, Jean Schwartz & Milton Ager, copyright 1934—has already been posted at Mudcat—at least the lyrics and chords have been.

Lyrics for 2 verses and a chorus are posted in this thread: Lyr Req: In a Little Red Barn (on a Farm Down...)

The chords for the chorus are posted in this thread: Lyr/Chords Req: In a Little Red Barn (on a Farm...)[above - threads combined]

Although there are web sites that feature images of old sheet music, they probably won't have this song because it's still under copyright.

Gene's link doesn't work, but the song he intended to link to is a different song: THE LITTLE RED BARN, words by George Cooper, music by Florence Harper, 1881. You can see the sheet music there.
