They both are corrupt... And they both are capable of doin' whatever it takes to keep control... No difference... That's the way I see it... B~ |

04 Feb 11 - 11:06 AM (#3088594) Subject: RE: BS: Mubarak = Boss Hog Hisself... From: GUEST,999 Yeah. But fact is no one on this forum gave a shit about Egypt until this crap happened. There is no tradition of democracy in that country, and even al-Sadat backed Hitler in WWII. He was a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in the late 1970s, along with Begin. Along with Bobad, I hope he`s hanged by at least some part of his anatomy, but no doubt the United-fucking Nations will intervene. He`ll be spirited off to some country and be kept safe from what seems to serve this world today as justice. As to his Muslimism, there are bastards of every religion. |

04 Feb 11 - 11:21 AM (#3088617) Subject: RE: BS: Mubarak = Boss Hog Hisself... From: GUEST,Eliza There seems to be a plethora of presidents along the north African coast staying put when they're not wanted. And in Ivory Coast, they've got TWO of 'em, one recently elected and the other one hanging grimly on by his teeth to a very lucrative post. Not to mention Robert Mgabe etc etc. Short of assassination, how does one shift these people from office? |

04 Feb 11 - 11:37 AM (#3088624) Subject: RE: BS: Mubarak = Boss Hog Hisself... From: GUEST,Eliza I used, years ago, to believe that the UN troops would step in and sort things out in these situations. In Ivory Coast, they stroll about watching while rioting, looting, threatening with guns after curfew in outlying districts of the capital, even killing, goes on under their very noses. The elected president is holed up in the Tiama Hotel, protected by his loyal troops, and the deposed one stays in the Presidential Palace guarded by the Military. The ordinary people are now suffering as the economy (such as it was) is at a standstill, the price of rice has doubled and no-one can go out after dark. Anarchy is just around the corner. No-one from the developed world seems to be doing much, even the French (13,000 live and work there) make disapproving noises but don't act. My point is, do we (or the UN) have a responsibility to intervene to uphold the democratic process? Or is it useless to try? I know that even the elected guys are usually corrupt. |

Difficult when nations like the US and UK have happily backed him for the last 30 years. No-one gave a shit about the Egyptian people being tortured and oppressed whilst sunning their fat, pasty western bodies in Red Sea resorts then did they? Or worried about giving them their stolen artifacts back? The hypocrisy of the west is unbelievable. |

04 Feb 11 - 11:46 AM (#3088633) Subject: RE: BS: Mubarak = Boss Hog Hisself... From: GUEST,999 General Romeo Dallaire - United Nations/Canada hero Eliza--if you google the above you`ll understand why I think the UN is a mostly useless organization in these types of circumstances. It`s a heartbreaking story. Romeo Dallaire is now a Canadian Senator. |

04 Feb 11 - 12:15 PM (#3088649) Subject: RE: BS: Mubarak = Boss Hog Hisself... From: GUEST,Eliza A truly heartbreaking story, 999. The Rwanda slaughter is one of the most horrifying episodes ever to take place, and M. Dallaire's heroic efforts and his subsequent mental torment move me to tears. I totally agree that the UN seems ineffectual at the very least, and suspiciously detached at the worst. Corrupt interests are at play under the surface politically, I'm sure. |

He`ll be spirited off to some country and be kept safe from what seems to serve this world today as justice.` I don`t mean I hope Bobad is hanged--just Mubarak. Then he can visit his maker. |

Why torturer Sulieman? John McCain, the king of viruses on Fox. This revolution is so exciting because it is real democracy in action, something we could use in the U.S. |
