The melody is wonderful, the chord progression - which wavers in true Cole Porter style between major and minor chords - is to die for, and the subtlety of the rhythm never fails to excite. And the lyrics were so hot for their time that the song caused a sensation. I finally got around to recording it today - lord only knows why it took so long - as a tenor guitar and guitar duet. I'll have to keep on re-doing it from time to time - it's just one of those things that can never be captured the way you want it to be. Anyway, if anyone's interested... Love For Sale |
