Look at the "Print Preview" to see how it appears before you send it to the printer, and you might find the setting "shrink to fit" is showing (and is messed up). Set it to the 100% setting to see how much shows or if it is off the margins, then adjust it down to the percentage that fits best. I bet the "shrink" setting got messed up if you printed something that was very large and the printer software fitted it to the page and never resized it back - so now it makes all normal stuff display very tiny on the printed sheet. If you are using a web browser email system, there should be no other settings to adjust except in the web browser. Have you tried a 'printer reset' - there are so many different possibilities that I really can't help. |

She wants to print far more e-mail messages than a normal human would ever think of printing, and her Comcast e-mail just doesn't print things the way she wants them. I always copy e-mails and paste them into Word and format them as I wish, but this is apparently too complicated for My Boss the Nun. I love her, but she drives me crazy sometimes. I have similar problems with My Boss the Wife.... Why is it so difficult for brilliant females to deal with e-mail? -Joe- |

The option "shrink to fit page" is intended to make sure that your printer doesn't clip off any of the very important ads that usually run down the borders of the browser window. If you're reading your email in your browser the settings you've applied to print an ordinary web page may still be applied to your email. Some email programs may have somewhat similar "page layout" options. If you're using Windows, when you hit Print in the browser or email program, you should see a small window where you can select one of your printers, set print options like paper size and type (photo or copy paper), scaling, high or low quality (economy to save ink) and any number of other things your printer might be able to do. If you've set the paper selection to 3x5" index cards, the email print will only be that big, even if 8.5x11" paper runs through. Some printers allow you to "thumbnail" multiple pages on the same sheet of paper. If you're set to print 4 pages per sheet and only send one page it will be tiny. Even if you have only one printer, you should still get the "print driver setup" window, and you may see "fax printer," "pdf printer" and other options that you didn't know you had. Most of these are "print to file" instead of to paper. Many recent printers even offer "print to email." The options you'll see on the menus often depend on you're having selected the printer you're going to use before you set options, since the options available change if you change printers. Buttons on the printer selection and setup window may be variously named, but "Preferences" and "Options" are common labels, with "Layout" occasionally used. The window(s) you get depend on the printer drivers you have installed, and some printers allow you several choices of drivers with different options. Most recent inkjets have a tab here where you can even see the lies about how disastrous it will be if you don't put in a new cartridge immediately, etc. Click all the buttons, flip through all the tabs on all the menus that come up, and you're very likely to find your solution; but there's enough variation between the drivers used by printer builders to make it impossible to be very specific about what you may find.
