Upgrade to ABCExplorer. It's better, free and works on 7.

I don't have Win7 to look at, but in prior recent versions if you right click on the "exe" file for the program and click Properties, there may be a "compatibility" tab where you can choose to "Run as ..." an earlier Windows version. (You can get the same "Properties" by right clicking a desktop icon for the program?)

When that doesn't do any good (ir almost never does) you'll have confirmed once again that Microsoft doesn't care how many of your legacy programs require replacement as long as they can sell you new versions of all of your Microsoft programs.

There have been sporadic reports of success with the method; and the option is rumored to have been continued in Win7; but the reports of success in any recent Windows version are believed to be "urban legends." (i.e. it didn't work with the couple of third party programs I lost when I went to Vista or even with one that tanked in WinXP.)

Most computers that come with Windows 7, seem to come with 64-bit Windows 7. The 32-bit version of Windows 7 may work with older programs and hardware, but the 64-bit version has given me fits on a number of things.
Still, I generally am happier with Win 7 than I am with the XP computers I'm trying to keep alive. I've generally been able to come up with workarounds that have kept me from having to buy new stuff - but I did have to replace my scanner.

If you really, really insist on hanging on to Abc2Win rather than moving to abcExplorer, and it won't work under Compatibility Mode as described by JohnInKansas, you might want to investigate XP Mode - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx. It's official Microsoft software (it's a slightly-more-consumer-friendly implementation of Virtual PC) and it's free.

It takes a while to set up (it isn't that complicated, just set aside an hour or so and you do need to do things exactly in the order specified on the above page); and then it takes longer than usual to launch the actual program once you've installed it in XP Mode - but it seems to work pretty well for running older programs that just won't play with either Win7 per se or with the 64-bit version in particular.

But seriously, ditch Abc2Win and get onto abcExplorer - abc2Win was brilliant in its day, but that day is long gone now there is abcExplorer to be an excellent free equivalent that doesn't produce broken abc.
