Cheltenham Folk Festival 2011

Sad to see no threads on this year's excellent Cheltenham Folk Festival. Did any 'Catters make it along? Highlights for me were the Library concerts and Nancy Kerr and James Fagan on Saturday Night, plus a lovely afternoon with Damien Barber and Mike Wilson.

Yes. My wife and I were there along with a large part of the Sheffield Folk Massif, and we had a great time. I agree about Nancy and James - brilliant. Some good sessions in the Pillar Room and the Big Sleep (Wideawake!!)

The highlight for me was Melrose Quartet.

Simply a well-organised festival.

Yes, I went, I always try to get to Cheltenham.
Had to miss all of Sunday and REALLY wanted to catch Melrose Quartet.
My best bits apart from Jouster and the fantastic Jackie Oates & 'band', were both in the Library, The Crucible Trio and James Findlay who I saw/heard for the first time.
T'was a wonderful line up this year.

I saw a drummer play the fiddle - a first for me. We went to see the Yeties - will it really be the last time? We would certainly go and see the Crucible Trio again.
It was nice to hear the session going on in the canteen - but it meant there were not enough seats to sit down and eat the food. We ended up in the Yates wine bar - which has gone downhill since we were there last. Im sure I could add a verse to the grumpy old men song.
We went to one of the early festivals but we are not sure if it was the first one. Can anyone remember who was on?
