mudcat radio song competition entrant

Hi,

We were going to a gig on Saturday when Alan of Oz announced that he was going to write a song to the tune of the Gypsy Laddie........... well it started my brain turning over and I pinched his idea, (at least I own up when I pinch things *grin*).

So here is the first ever song that I have ever written in my life, (please be gentle with me....)

Feel free to add more verses........... (thanks again alan for the idea and scanning)

Mudcat Radio (Tune Raggle Taggle Gypsy)

All around the world via internet
There's many's a lad and lady-O
Tuning in every week to hear Max and Bert
Playing on the Mudcat Radio.

We've talked for ages in the Mudcat threads
And sometimes in the chat room-O
But Max worked hard and he gave us something new -
He created the Mudcat Radio.

If you're on the 'Net and you've got the time
You'll need to have Real Audio
Then every week you can join us all
As we listen to the Mudcat radio.

On Wednesday night in the USA,
Or Thursday morn in Aussie-O
In Iceland, UK and Europe too
We'll be listening to the Mudcat Radio.

You can always find us around the 'cat
And often in the tavern-O
So we'll give a cheer and we'll sink another beer
As we listen to the Mudcat Radio.

(Alison Boyd 8/9/99)

G'day,
My addition to Alison's great effort. Insert after verse 2:-

On opening night we all tuned in
Battling net congestion-O
At seven-o-five a gremlin pulled the plug
And caused world-wide frustration-O.

But Max and Bert kept battling on
Recording for posterity-O
And you can still hear their historic archive
If you listen to the Mudcat Radio.

Cheers,
Alan

Not often I'm speechless, especially speechless in awe

but when it happens, recently,it's usually due to the 'Cat.

G'day,
Gee, I stay up late recording, mixing, converting to mp3, email to Max & crawl off to bed. Get up, late for work, tune in for a Mudcat fix & there it is already.

I'm sure Alison is still asleep & won't even know yet that I've recorded the song.

Apart from the vocals this was a recording we made a while ago with different words. That's Alison on whistle & piano filling in behind the guitar.

Cheers,
Alan (off to work in a hurry - 12 hour day today, damn!)

G'day again,
Driving to work I realized I had to point out that it's only about 18 hours since Alison started writing this song, less than 12 hours since I started recording. What sort of record's that??

Dennis, good to cross paths with you again, Howya goin'?

Cheers,
Alan (only 1/2 hour late for work.)

Morning Alison,
Real Audio quality's not bad if you don't have congestion - isn't there something you can take for that?

My comment about your sleeping habits seems to have been a bit hasty this morning!

Cheers,
Alan

uhm, Leej, I think that's Alan of Oz, which may be why Bert sounds that good. Read the above posts to check.
