25 Feb 11 - 03:14 PM (#3102758) Subject: BS: I'll miss my friend From: GUEST,Pseudolus at work Several years ago a friend of mine and I met at a bar where I was playing. I invited him to stop by my church where I had been playing contemporary Christian music every Saturday night. I didn't know my friend was an alcoholic. He eventually came to church and was inspired in a big way by the message that night. He cleaned up, got sober, and on more than one occasion credited me with saving his life. He said without that invite he was sure he would have been dead in less than a year. I just wanted him to hear me play the drums but it was kind of a rush to hear him say that I was a part of what saved him. My friend struggled over the years but for the most part did great. Last night he lost control of his car and hit a pole and died. There is no info at this point about whether there was alcohol involved...but I hope not. It shouldn't matter because he is still gone. My friend loved his family, he loved his friends and he loved God. Whatever happened, alcohol or no alcohol, I will miss him. I wish I could have saved him this time...because his was a life worth saving. I miss you my friend.... Frank |

He wasn't to be saved, simply had lived the life he was supposed to, for the time he was supposed to. You added greatly to that life for him, and him for you. Keep his Spirit always in your heart and you'll be just fine. x |

I feel inept and at a loss. But, I am a rather stunned guy so all I can say is ditto and I wish I had such words. I only see there was good in your heart and in your actions and that your friend was helped. Take care. |

Good friends can do that and it sometimes brings a contentment mixed in with any sadness which comes along. My condolences on your loss, Frank. kat |

25 Feb 11 - 11:02 PM (#3102951) Subject: RE: BS: I'll miss my friend From: LilyFestre There are some people who are taken far too soon. Your friend sounds like one of those people. I lost my best friend when he was 31 years old...it was way too early. It's now 12 years later and I can't think of a day that has passed that he still isn't in my thoughts. Sometimes the universe sends out little twinklings of my friend.......I bet you'll have that too. I don't think love ever ends or separates us from one another (friend, family, spouse). I'm so sorry for your loss Frank. (((((((((((Love to you)))))))))))))) Michelle |
