Review: Seamus Kennedy Sighting

MY sons and a group of friends went to Batavia NY to hear Seamus Kennedy. As usual he was himself. I was hoping he'd changed his ways some but no. He introduced me to the crowd a Salman Rushdie, future soon to be dead poet. Has me yodel with him on on "The Cattle Call" and then says, "That's OK Don, no one here knows you." Then he says when no one else can hear, "You know, you yodel like Gene Autry."

If he wasn't a good friend I say some things about him that were true.

Catch him when you can. He is a performer not to be apologized for.

Don

Seamus is ok. Too bad that he just doesn't have the legs for a skirt.

I'm with you on that, Art. Seamus is a wonderful fellow, dynamite musician and utterly outrageous. If he gets to this thread, I will need his address.

Boy, what a fun night in O'Lacey's Pub in Batavia.
Don, his sons and Bill Delany a colleague of Don's in the Flyin' Column folk group were there, as were some members of the Tom Dooley Choraliers from Syracuse. Also there were 7 or 8 members of the Vocal Agents, a local SPEBSQSA (Barbershop) group.
I encouraged a little "rivalry" between the 2 choral groups, and I'll be danged if they didn't actually become friendly and sing together.
It was great listening to all those wonderful harmonies!
Don you were a great sport to come up and do a little harmony yodel on "Cattle Call". Thanks.
999 - if you PM me, I'll give you my mailing address. Thanks for the kind words.

Seamus (stuck in snowy Erie, PA with a dead car)
