If your caller isn't used to a headset, watch out for moving in front of the FOH speakers - you can get horrendous feedback. Noisy breathing and coughing can be a nuisance. Many headset mics are tailored to give a rising frequency response so that the mic is worn to the side of the mouth where the hf is less. This takes some getting used to - the temptation is to stick the capsule in the front of your mouth - this gives a toppy sound and is more prone to popping. The method of fitting varies between manufacturers; some are more comfortable and stable than others. We currently use a Shure, which replaced a VHF audio technica. Stu |
