We put on concerts in the orangery on dance boards. We are looking for Appalachian teams who are interested in coming over for the weekend. Although we will be dancing over the Saturday sunday and Monday, for anyone wanting to make a long weekend of it we camp/caravan in the park from Thursday mid day prior to the weekend and leave by Tuesday midday. The pub (The Ship)puts on a beer festival for us and there is non stop music from 8pm onwards. Anyone interested give me a pm. Cheers john. AKA Oombanjo |
08 Mar 11 - 03:20 AM (#3109438) Subject: RE: Appalachian dance teams wanted From: BanjoRay What John (Oombanjo) hasn't pointed out is that the event is totally free to any Old Time musician or Appalachian dancer who wants to turn out for an excellent weekend's fun: no camping fees or entrance fees. The sessions over the weekend are open and friendly, and a great place to pick up tunes and make good musical friends. The Orangery concerts are basically open sessions, where you play tunes for dancers or just play tunes in a large room with great acoustics. If you enjoy Old Time American string band music this is the place to be over May Day bank holiday, just outside Bridlington. Ray |

We are not availsble for this year, as we're already committed to dancing at Upton-on-Severn. But we might be available for next year's festival - if there is one. We are about to launch a new website. I'll post the details when it's up and running. There's a clip of us dancing on there. Cheers. John Kelly. |
