09 Mar 11 - 08:27 PM (#3110776) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Corvus Corax - Saderalladon From: Monique Runrig, on the video you linked to, they sing the 4th verse, the chorus, then the 1st verse and the chorus, that's all. Here is a more or less literal translation In May in the sweet, new times (season) When the meadows grow green again I heard on a small tree /shrub The nightingale sing Saderaladon It's so good To sleep beside the small bush As I was thoughtful I sat down beside the little bush I slept there a little To the sweet singing of the little bird Saderaladon It's so good To sleep beside the small bush When I woke up I asked the bird a favor: Let him rejoice me I'd be more cheerful/gay/happy. Saderaladon It's so good To sleep beside the small bush And when I got up I began playing my citole And made the little bird sing In front of me, in the meadow. Saderaladon It's so good To sleep beside the small bush The little nightingale said That it nearly went mad From the great sorrow it had Because a villein had heard it. Saderaladon It's so good To sleep beside the small bush There's a translation into modern French here that helped me greatly for the 3rd verse. |

10 Mar 11 - 01:45 AM (#3110880) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Corvus Corax - Saderalladon From: Joe Offer Runrig Fan, you have me confused. You started two "Corbus Corax" threads, but it's unclear how many songs you are requesting. Looks like you also seek songs titles "Pacel Aqua" and "Ei Beribach" - but I can't tell for sure. In general, you should request only one song per thread. Otherwise, it gets confusing. Please start new threads if you need other songs, and leave this thread for "Corvus Corax." -Joe- |
10 Mar 11 - 03:57 AM (#3110924) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Corvus Corax - Saderalladon From: Monique From Tenso electrica website. They have a French translation facing the original. What Corvux Corax sing is, the 4 1st lines of the 1st verse, something in German ending by "... spielen, spielen, spielen / Ein Jahr mehr oder weniger / Was macht's?" (I don't speak German, I found the lyrics by In Extremo and found the end matching, not what they say before, at least not all), then the 3 last line of the verse. PÒS VESEM QUE L'IVERN S'IRAIS Peire Vidal (1175-1205) Pòs vesem que l'ivern s'irais e part se del tems amoros que non aug ges voutas ni lais dels auzels per vergers folhos per lo freit del brun temporal non laisserai un vers a far e dirai alques mon talan Lonc desirier e greu pantais n'ai agut al còr cobeitos ves cela qui suau me trais mas anc ves li non fui greignos anz la portava el còr leial molt fui leugiers a enganar mas peccat n'aia de l'aman No gens per autr' orgòlh no.m lais de s'amor don tan sui coitos e conosc ben com ben mi pais e fui galiatz ad estròs las remasutz sui del cabal qu'anc per autra non volg ponhar per me ni per mon drògoman Tot meschavatz car a gran fais me teng dòna quan pensa de vos et quant n'aug parlar m'es esglais et ja jorn no.m serai gaujos qu'eu sui iratz de vostre lau et ai jòi de vostre blasmar e plason me tuit vostre dan Non pòsc mudar que no.n biais ves aquel jòi tant orgòlhos qu'anc non vi orgòlh non abais quan plus en poja melhs cai jos et es fòls qui ve e qui au e si non sab son melhs triar e n'a el siecle d'aquels tan Hui mais s'en fenhan drutz e lais cel qui non estan enoios qu'a totz l'esfenis e lo lais per sò que no.n soi poderos pòs poder no.i sai ben ni mal ben es dreitz qu'òm lo desampar et ai perdut mon afan You can hear a classic rendition here. Corbus Corax's pronunciation is quite... exotic... and I do wonder how they managed to get it spelled with C's, it never could be! |
10 Mar 11 - 04:31 AM (#3110941) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Corvus Corax - Saderalladon From: GUEST,Suibhne Astray That takes me back - the album was Peire Vidal - A Troubadour in Hungary released on Hungaroton by Fraternitas Musicorum in 1981. I bought it on the strength of Andras Kecskes & I think it was the first time I'd heard Marta Sebestyen, who sounds gorgeous with her hurdy-gurdy on a couple of songs. The rest of the album is remarkable too, despite the short tracks (each song is given a couple of verses only) - the playing & arrangements are exquisite. Even today it sounds pretty amazing... You can read all about it HERE - though how to get a copy - well there are ways and means I'm sure! |
10 Mar 11 - 05:07 AM (#3110955) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Corvus Corax - Saderalladon From: Monique Runrig, is "Pacel Aqua" "Pase el agoa" also spelled "Pase el agua"? PASE EL AGOA/AGUA Pase el agua, ma Julieta, Dama, Pase el agua venite vous a moy. Ju me'n anay en un vergel. Ju me'n anay en un vergel. Tres rosetas fui culler, Ma Julioletta, Dama. Pase el agua venite vous a moy. sheet music but the English doesn't translate the original language(s) exactly. Here is what it literally says Cross the water, my Juliet, lady, Come to me. I went into a garden, I went to pick three little/nice roses, My little Juliet, lady Cross the water, come to me. |
10 Mar 11 - 05:54 AM (#3110983) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Corvus Corax - Saderalladon From: Monique About Peire Vidal, the dates above are the ones of his activity, his life dates seem to be 1150-1210. Lit. translation to the 1st verse of "Pòs vesem que l'iver s'irais" Since we see that Winter gets angry And moves away from the love season That I don't ear any trills or songs Of the birds in the leafy gardens In the cold of the dark weather I won't leave a poem unwritten And I will say my desire. |
