A captivating and energetic mixture of English and Turkish folk music, self-penned material and driven tunes from the English Morris & Turkish & Greek Cypriot traditions give Doðan Mehmet & The Deerhunters a big, unique sound that screams "World Fusion'. ...A hugely dynamic frontman and exceptional vocalist, Doðan also excels on fiddle, guitar and melodeon (as well a variety of traditional Turkish instruments) in a wide cross-section of styles from jazz and funk to soul and indie-rock. With his big band (The Deerhunters) he cleverly fuses Anglo-Turkish, Gypsy-Punk styles in a mix of traditions and strong acoustic grooves. "Boss Caine is the musical vehicle of songwriter Daniel Lucas. Sometimes solo, sometimes accompanied, he has gigged all over the UK with the likes of Arlo Guthrie, Sam Baker, Guillemots, Alabama 3, Stacey Earle and more, playing what has been described as a Yorkshire based cross between Tom Waits and Ryan Adams. The debut album 'The ship that sailed' was released to critical acclaim last year, and the next album 'One for the road' is to be released this summer. Chris Brown will be opening the show.
