Why? That's a very good question.

I mean. . . .
WHY??

For love... how poetic. How insightful. The human condition explained in a nutshell.

Because he is so dumb that he doesn't realize there is a perfectly good paved road around it?

Captain Kirk tried to climb the mountain but nearly fell to his death. It was Mr. Spock and his rocket boots that saved the day.

I don't think he ever got to shag the mountain. But you can never tell. Perhaps he found a small aperture in the escarpment.

Lets hope the relationship resolved itself happily for both parties.

I wonder if anyone has scaled Anne Widdecombe, now the nation has taken her to their hearts.

If she's a lizard-person, they would have to de-scale her.

Speaking of lizards.............See the pine tree in the background that looks far away? That's really a Wizard's Hat up close behind Bill and artfully camouflaged as only a great Wizard can do!

Cheech has just finished getting his hat blown by Shatner which explains a lot about Bill..............

No a lizard isn't exactly comes to mind when we speak of Anne Widdecombe, more.....well I'm not sure. More a heady mixture of Dumbo and Benito Mussolini.

Ask yourself this. Has anyone ever offered up anything more deep and meaningful than Shatner's ruminations on why he climbs the mountain?

20 Mar 11 - 03:24 PM (#3117687)
Subject: RE: BS: Why does Kirk climb the mountain?
From: GUEST,Alan Whittle

Well yes......but going 'deep aand meaningful'   is heading in the wrong direction when confronted by a mountain. Perhaps 'high and superficial' would make more sense.

"Why does Kirk climb the mountain?"

Because he lost his cell phone and can't reach the Enterprise and so he ain't gonna get beamed up.

Well, yes, Shatner has also mastered the high and superficial in no uncertain terms.

Well, there's a mystery to contemplate! When I try to post to any other thread tonight, I get sent straight to a new page on Babelfish, but when I post to this thread, it goes through!

It's the power of Shatner!

But of course LH! You of all people should understand the power of Shatner. But right now I'm remembering Winona Ryder in a bathtub. Angelina Jolie was in the film as well.

Subject: RE: BS: Why does Kirk climb the mountain?
From: Little Hawk

Yeah, I saw that one. Good film. Angelina Jolie was incredible in that role...she had a lot to work with. Winona did fine too, but her role was less intense than Angelina's.

If one could pile all these posts in one spot, it would provide another mountain for Shatner too climb.

21 Mar 11 - 01:32 AM (#3117999)

But first....he would view that pile of posts...and wax philosophical.

I thin he climbed it to get away from a world where someone was crazy enough to put a serious amount of time into creating that video.

The "Shatner Touch" can lift any performance to previously unthought-of dimensions of ineffability.
