Speakin' of band, I recorded a geetar track on a real sweet GUEST 999's original that was gonna be on the next Mud CD and somehow it got the Xs & Os messed up on the trackin... I donno... But I also recorded one of my blues originals, "Buttermilk Blues" an' I reckon it's gonna be on the CD... Better than the last stuff I gave 'um which was like, ahhhhh, 30 year old 70's folkie crap... Hey, it was okay fir 70s... LOL... Also had a drummer, "Lathan Leonidos Thigpen, III"... Hey, I don't make this shit up... I mean, I couldn't... B~ |

I loved the picture in the Washington Post that came out around '63 of her at a Civil Rights demonstration and she had her "pink" gloves on... Now that is class!!! Me??? Okay, never pink gloves at any demonstrations but... Oh, never mind... B~ BTW, seeing as this is about names of band-mates, I figured that I'd throw in a little band-name trivia... One of the most popular bands in DC in the late 60s was a band by the name of "Claude Jones", who was not only their equipment/sound guy but also the 1st person busted in California foe possession of LSD after it was made illegal... From: GUEST,Alan Whittle Probably my my favourite band of all time were a Bolton outfit called brownsville banned who played the UK folk circuit in the 1970's. There were two mainstays the mad professor who used to dance round the stage wearing mothing but a gas mask with a very penile tube coming out of the nose. And King Edward, who played the banjo. The other member was Doc. Who wore a doctors white tunic, apart from the times he took on his alter ego King of the Working Mens Clubs Singer - Norman Mills. Norman used to sing Spanish Eyes - every few lines there would be note so ludicrously out of tune. that the whole audience simply exploded with laughter. Towards the end of the 70's they recruited a fourth member, who worked under the name - Vic Vomit, King of the Punk Rockers. just the best act i ever saw, anywhere. Sadly i started gigging myself so i started missing their gigs. then one day i looked, and they were gone. |
