NEW YORK - Glenn Beck is leaving his Fox News Channel show later this year. The network and Beck's company, Mercury Radio Arts, announced the departure on Wednesday. Fox and the company said they will work together to create other projects for Fox News television and digital.

His fan club can still follow him on radio - and if I read the release right, he will still 'influence FOX programming' while he remains alive - and paid for it.

Randomly scanning radio stations a few weeks ago I stumbled on Beck's show. All he had to talk about was a diet he was on. He didn't even have the decency to entertain me by pissing me off. I think he is on Prozac or Lithium or somesuch and it is affecting his mind in less than commercially viable ways.

Jack your story about prozac has the makings of a scoop!

I was on TV and said that I thought Reagan had an organic brain disease in its early phases, two years before Reagan admitted it in a letter.

PS that was my last appearence on the NBC Matt Rinaldi show.

This is good. Shane may finally have a job out there that he's capable of handling now that Glenn Beck has decided to leave Fox and move on to something different. I'll instruct him to call up Fox TV as soon as he's out of jail and apply.

Yeah, Glenny saw an ad on Craigslist... Apparently someone, as a joke, placed that ad in the "Help Wanted" section with the header "Jesus Wanted" and so since Beck thinks he is the second coming, he just up and quit FIX and is off to become Jesus???

Fact is stranger than fiction...

On Fox, you can be crazy and right wing and racist for that matter. But you can't be anti-Semitic. That's fair enough I guess. Since Murdoch is spending all this money on propaganda he can't tolerate it goring his own ox.

I'm not saying he should have been allowed to be anti-Semitic. I'm saying the line should have been drawn long before he got to that.

ALL conspiracy theory bullshit is ultimately and inherently antisemitic. When all else fails--blame the Jews. If Murdoch didn't know that going into it, he's an idiot. When Bush was in charge, the big bugaboo of the left was neo-conservatism which was started by Jews and carried on in Bush's administration by Jews as Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith, Abrams, etc. Nowadays, the big bugaboo of the right is George Soros--another Jew. It's the nature of that particular beast.

Sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy to me. Kind of the same as how even extreme paranoids have real enemies....and they see them absolutely EVERYWHERE! This could be partly because their own paranoia helps make quite a few enemies as time goes by. Ask Hitler about that.

The only conspiracy theories most people are willing to entertain seriously are their own...that is, the conspiracy theories they happen to already sympathize with. But they don't call those ones "conspiracy theories". ;-D They call them "the truth".

Ahhhh - Little Hawk - Aren't you one of the folks that suspect that 9/11 was an "inside job"?

08 Apr 11 - 03:06 PM (#3131477)
Subject: RE: BS: Glenn Beck to leave his Fox TV show
From: Little Hawk

I think it may well have been, Wesley, but I can't say I know for sure. It might have been a combination of an "inside job" and an "outside job". There are all kinds of possibilities about that.

I consider the official version of 911 to be one among a large number of popular and not-so-popular conspiracy theories regarding those events. Which one of them is the most accurate, I can't say, as I am not in a position to have certainty about such matters. ;-) Nor is anyone else here. At any rate, there most definitely was a conspiracy behind the 911 attacks...therefore EVERY existing theory about it IS a conspiracy theory, including that put forth by the government and the 911 Commission.

What I was saying in my previous post was that GUEST thinks ALL conspiracy theorists are out to get the Jews. That's interesting. It reminds me of Hitler, who thought that ALL Jews were out to get everybody else. Seems like a similarly paranoid viewpoint on things to me, only from the diametrically opposite angle.

I don't buy it in either case.

Name a conspiracy theory that does not ultimately blame the Jews.

So aren't you you're own self-fulfilling prophecy? The official version is just another conspiracy theory, eh? And you know this because you know...The Truth?

08 Apr 11 - 06:01 PM (#3131568)
Subject: RE: BS: Glenn Beck to leave his Fox TV show
From: Little Hawk

No. I said I don't know for sure. I guess you just conveniently skipped over that part in your mind, did you?

ANY theory about a conspiracy is a conspiracy theory. That includes the official 911 theory as presented by the US government. What part of that statement do you not understand? Or do you not know the definition of the word "conspiracy"?

There are numerous conspiracy theories about 911. Some of them link to the Jews in some way or another. Some do not. I'm not going to list them all...hell, I probably haven't even heard them all! You look them up and decide whether they implicate Jews or not. It's your obsession, not mine.

You see, I don't use the term "conspiracy theory" to ridicule and debunk things, as most people do. I just use it to describe a theory about a conspiracy. Any secret plan that involves 2 or more people IS a conspiracy. Any theory about it is a conspiracy theory. Some conspiracy theories are correct, some are not, some are partially correct.

I do not know which conspiracy theory about 911 is the most correct and accurate...or even if ANY of them are really correct...because I'm not in a position to know. Therefore I don't claim to.

The Truth is that I am here typing on my keyboard right now. And I'm alive. I have no way of knowing what is the whole Truth about 911, and I never expect to know it nor do I expect anyone else here to know it, because we don't have full access to that info, and we don't have any way of getting full access to it.

Combine 9-11 with birther issues and you might have another Glen Beck topic.

mixing and matching conspiracy theories really seemed to be a popular system that Beck used.

BEck said a few things that were not entirely helpful to the oligarchy. The super wealthy may infight but they couldn't let some of their own get attacked without feeling they could be just as vulnerable.

Note that one of Beck's most serious problems was being deserted by advertisers:   Over 200 advertisers notified Fox they wanted no ads on Beck's show.

Boycotts-- and other pressures-- on advertisers work.

It certainly has been entertaining watching him go off the deep end.
Beck has been fascinated by a book called "A World Made By Hand". He's been telling his viewers to do things like can vegetables and put up preserves. This can't have endeared him to sponsors.

I've read "A World Made By Hand" and enjoyed it. But I've always been a sucker for post-war books. It started with "Alas Babylon" and has stuck to this day. It's scary to think that Glenn Beck and I have anything in common.

I've not seen his TV show very often but I check out his radio program on a regular basis. One of his sponsers on the radio sells seeds you can use to grow your own food after the coming economic crash. Real doom and gloom stuff. Many of his sponsers use fear to sell their products.
