He's been an old friend to EFC and has appeared in every permanent venue we've had with the exception of, I believe, George Square. However, we are a little upset that The Triangle Club managed to get him first... way back in 1979. Last time, he appeared solo but, on the latest tour, he is rejoined by oft time playing partner Fraser Spiers who has recently been very busy performing with one Paulo Nutini whom we can't quite afford. :-) From Eddie's own thread..... "Eddie Walker is still primarily a solo act but his harmonica playing partner Fraser Speirs has returned from his stint in the Paolo Nutini Band and is gigging with Eddie once again at selected dates mainly in Scotland. If you go to www.myspace.com/eddiewalker there are currently three tracks to hear there that feature Fraser. Also they can be seen together at _/http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=phC7M74m-TQ/_/ ..... and if that isn't enough here are some more You Tube links for Eddie solo playing his new Gibson guitar at Guisborough Rugby Club Folk Club in February 2011. Pickin' Boys/Deep River Blues http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9oiEyhmywg Red Shoes On My Feet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqMk164mUbA Spoon river http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWzLyHhMvuo http://www.fraserspeirs.com and http://www.eddiewalker.net " So, if you enjoy folk, blues, ragtime music and song along with some great guitar and harmonica this is the place to be. |
