Fleetwood Folk Club

Fleetwood folk club returns to The Steamer. After its forced exit from its home for the past 20 years, due to The Steamer's closure the club returns there this Thursday, as The Steamer reopens on Wed. Whilst the management & staff at the Mount [our temp. home] made is most welcome it is still nice to go 'home'.

Phew, that's good news but it's always comforting to know you've got a 'second home' should the need arise again.

Excellent news!

I hope the landlord offers a free round of drinks to welcome you home, and to ease the pain and suffering.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Hi Ron. Is there a guest this week? I think it was going to be Dai Thomas but all the guests have disappeared from the MySpace page.

All thanks to the Myspace revisions, Ivan! We've given up on it pretty much - sorry for the confusion.

Howevwer - Ron was over on Friday & mentioned Dai Thomas was on this week (blues?) so I guess that'll be back at The Steamer...

Have fun!

We meet at and treasure The Beech in Chorlton:

Here

It has been closed twice in the last 2 years and is the only pub of its kind locally with a Snug etc.

Since it reopened with do songs 1st & 3rd and tunes 2nd & 4th Wednesday. We encouraged the Irish Session to return - now every Monday. A Cajun Session happens on every 3rd Tuesday.

We have had clog sessions on Saturday mornings and Morris on Summer Evenings. This year we will have a week's Art Exhibition and a live music every night for that week - as part of the Chorlton Arts Festival.

The pub as a focus for live music of every kind and storytelling and poetry seems worth pursuing. How about late afternoon early evening Chess or Bridge?

Anything (?) but football?

Best wishes from all at The Beech

Great news for the club and all Fylde Festival goers - an excellent venue (and very welcoming under the previous landlord). Hope the club continues to prosper.

Tonight's our first night back at The Steamer, guest Di Thomas [plays a National like the very Devil]. Met the new landlord last night, seems to be on side.

Ron et al-

"Met the new landlord last night, seems to be on side."

I suppose that's better than "belly-side-up."
