Final Four Fools Festival 24 - 26 June

I for one am really sad to hear this is the final Four Fools Folk Festival. I have been to every one (and this is the 23rd). What great love Angie and Ken must have for the tradition, they even took their festival with them when they moved. The weekend is truly a celebration of traditional music and song with the emphasis on friendliness and sharing. There are no big PAd concerts, just wonderful ballad sessions, singarounds, meet the artistes and those unique events where you really feel the guests are sharing songs with you.

This year's lineup is wonderful. There's Roy Harris, Pete Coe, Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher, Peta Webb and Ken Hall, Kevin and Ellen Mitchell, Barrie and Ingrid Temple, Ken Wilson, Sid Calderbank, Malcolm Gibbons, Mark Dowding, His Worship and the Pig, John Morris. And there will be others around I have no doubt. A true singers festival. I'm really looking forward to yet another unique weekend from the little festival with the big heart. Rightly voted by festivalgoers and artistes alike as the best singers festival around. See you there. And good luck and many thanks to Angie and Ken for all their hard work, they deserve to escape to sunny Saltburn.    Please, please please may there be another Four Fools Fest. somewhere, some time.

I stewarded the first and did the Lancashire ones but lost touch when I no longer went to Beverley.

sorry to hear this, the loss of any festival is sad, and especially one so friendly and well organised as four fools has been.
All the best for the future Ken & Angie

Regards John & Marie

Many thanks friends. Mr Red, as you were at the first, you should get to the last one. Let's make it the best yet and make the rafters roar, as we have been doing since 1989.

Sorry to hear about this. I've never been able to make the Festival as it's always coincided with the Comhaltas All-Britain Fleadh but it's always a shame when something ends like this.

As it happens, I had a lovely evening not long ago at Angie and Ken's club playing with Ildanach. I hope the club will continue. It's a good one.

I haven't been able to get to Four Fools since the move to Chorley, but am thankful to Ken and Angie for some great festivals in Redditch, and wish you all the best... I think Saltburn already has a festival, doesn't it....?

Kitty

Yes Saltburn has a great Festival. All the more reason not to miss this Four Fools as it is definitely the final one. I encourage everyone to make the effort to get there. Let's sing out what has been one of the best and friendliest of all singers festivals. Faithfull to the tradition to the last I note from the line-up. Their 'Wall of Sound' certainly exceeds expectations every year, as does the "Squeezer Geezer" session. And their Meet the Artiste sessions are wonderful.

Boy am I sorry this is the last one, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

See you there.
