BS: What kept you up last night?

The joys of new meds which are working well, but one of which increases the anticoagulation effect of coumadin. That, plus a too dry climate and I was up until 2a with a bloody nose, both nostrils! Rats! Kudos to Rog for staying up long enough to see pressure and ice do their magic. I would urge anyone who may a proclivity for bleeding problems to be sure to keep a supply of THIS on hand, plus the same company has a spray-on application, too. I was out.:-< I do have new yarrow leaves coming in; they are about 2 feet tall now. Somehow I couldn't talk Rog into going out at midnight to gather a few leaves as it is known, throughout the world's history, for being good for stopping bleeding: Click Here.

Anyway...today I am giving myself permission to do nothing much but catch up on some sleep and start a silly thread.

So...didja sleep last night? If not, why? Hope you had more fun than I did!

Taking jabs at moderators reminds me of a 3 year old testing the limits of everything based on little or no undertanding.
The effort and discipline of a single act of moderation is an adult undertaking that often exceeds the comprehension of the child.

LOL...yeah, me, too, Donuel.

Funny, though, one of those new wonder drugs I am on is Revatio, founded to treat pulmonary hypertension with a very interesting side-effect which became known as "viagra!"

So, BNV, this mod will let stand your pithy quip, just don't ask me about any stiffies!

Toothache.

I am working hard at being grateful that, at the age of 56, I still have those teeth in my head, but right now it's a bit of a stretch. Two temporary crowns were installed last Tuesday, but they're not settling down according to the plan.

The Cdn$3,500.00 it costs for two crowns (no root canal) is my personal fave for No-Fun Spending Champion, contending vigorously for the title currently held by Hole in the Roof and Dead Furnace (tie).

Well, in spite of a cracked rib, a bruised bum and a slightly wrenched knee, I slept OK. Woke at 6.00am with birdsong - had the usual early morning pee - and back to sleep for a couple of hours or so.

Kat, darling - have a good night tonight! If you get bored, pass the time with a little Lancashire/Oklahoma pulsating:

The new cat. She wasn't supposed to be a kitten. She spent the night racing through the apartment and attacking our feet under the covers. If she wasn't pouncing on our feet, she was chasing her tail while standing on our feet. She also got into some newspaper that hadn't made its way out to the recycling bin yet and shredded it, strewing confetti through the whole apartment. It's a good thing she's so adorable, its hard to get mad at something that cute.

It wasn't so much the noise from the A55 as the fact that my wife closed the Travelodge window because of the noise, and I woke up some time later pouring in sweat. Caught up with my sleep later so I missed most of the M25 and M40! AS they say, every cloud has a silver lining. Back in my own bed tonight so I should sleep ok.

The adorable Kaylee kept me up last night. This night it's a friggin' rotten and infected tooth. Aren't you glad you asked? They have free dental care in Canada don't they? Nova Scotia might be a good place for me to relocate. I'm almost not even kidding.

Ranger1 - She's a doll!! Reminds me a lot of my Sheldon - same huge yellow eyes. She has a bigger white spot on her chest, though. :-)

I don't usually have a problem falling asleep, it's staying asleep that's the challenge. If it's not a crazy cat, it's my bladder or bad back or outside noise that wakes me.

Reunited with rabbit, I hugged her ample behind last night and slept like a log. Looking at the window the street lights shine through so I am hoping that it won't cause to much of a problem but if it does I think I am going to have some furniture shifting to do or hang up darker curtains to make it right.

I was up cleaning. One of the benefits of Ambien is that I can take it, do my chores and in the morning wake up to a clean house with little to no memory of doing it!! It's a beautiful SURPRISE for me when I wake up!!!   LOL

Mercifully, I generally sleep like a log - waking is rather more difficult.

Which bright spark invented the phrase 'slept like a baby', I wonder? I, for one, don't fancy sleeping for two hours only to wake up grizzling and wallowing in half my weight of excrement.

Bedtime book at the moment a biography of James Berry, Home Office Executioner in late 1800's. So fascinating, couldn't bear to stop reading and put out my little lamp. Husband fast asleep, me reading on and on.. Most hangings (about two dozen per year) were of nasty men who murdered their wives or girlfriends. NOT condusive to sweet dreams!
Patsy, good luck in your new home!

I didn't sleep as well - I'm getting over an infected insect sting (from 11 days ago) on my calf and between the huge itch from it (finding a position that didn't make it itch more) and beginning to feel ill from the spreading infection I tended to have odd dreams that woke me up. That usually only happens when I'm catching something like a cold or flu.

Today was much better, as the antibiotics are kicking in.

Thank you Eliza. Coincidentally, my mother packed a bag ready for me to take and placed on the top is a book about notorious and dangerous women. I don't know what she is trying to suggest but it is going to be a little bit unsettling for the neighbours if they see me reading it in the garden!

Your reaction to the Creocoat sounds really awful and hope you feel better soon. I would feel pretty miserable too if I had to leave my window shut I would be inclined just for once to follow Dave MacKenzie's advice and have a small tipple.

LOL Patsy, the neighbours will think you're a bit strange!
Loved to read about your stuffed rabbit Bess. I've still got my Teddy (called, unimaginatively, 'Teddy') which I was given when I was two. I knitted him a pair of pink knickers when I was seven, to preserve his modesty! They've faded to a pale fawn now. Good idea about the tipple, will consider a bottle of Guiness or Adnam's perhaps.
