I know it is in the songbook "Calypso Songs of the West Indies" but that book seems to be difficult to find. |

I have the Calypso song book by Massie Patterson and Lionel Belasco, as transcribed by Maurice Baron. It is rare, and expensive for a paperback with 12 scores. PM your email and I will scan the score for you (both Creole and English lyrics, with musical score). Instead of "bacu" it must read "baou" = beau/belle, of course. Q or Morwen, can you post the original chords (or better still, the accompaniment in ABC)? Being of classical European background, Belasco probably chose something more sophisticated than just C and G. |
